Day 14: Morning off, Montreal Traffic, le Cote Sud…

It’s amazing that in the 14 days I’ve been traveling I’ve only slept 3 nights, including tonight in Rivière-du-Loup, in a motel. I am blessed with beautiful, caring, generous, and loving friends. I’ve slept on the floor (on couch cushions), on a couple of couches, about 5 comfy beds and one….very hard one, tonight! I’m pretty lucky.

Today was a “Aunty Trilby” morning with my two mini lovely bouffons.

Then more goodbyes (“see you laters”) and back on the road. But, first…  Continue reading “Day 14: Morning off, Montreal Traffic, le Cote Sud…”

Day 12 into Day 13: Dawn, 5 lanes & back to the city…

Monday’s blog, Day 12, was written before the day was finito.

Knowing I was intending on leaving before dawn yesterday morning (day 13), I packed up as much as I could before my friend Tom and I went off to Cambridge (not too far away) to meet our other friend, Dan. More hellos, hugs and good chatter (and amazing GF tomato/basil pasta), another goodbye (or, rather, “see you on the return”) and back to the goats (but they were asleep).

Friends and good food!

Too many parentheses?

True to the plan, I managed to rise at… Continue reading “Day 12 into Day 13: Dawn, 5 lanes & back to the city…”

Day 11 into Day 12… Buffooning & regrouping

I just reviewed my previous posts and realized I was very mixed up in my day numbers. They’ve been adjusted and all is correct now. I’m losing track of the time! And… where I am now? 🙂

Yesterday, day eleven was a special day as I was booked for a Buffoonery Workshop in Hamilton. Five awesome women showed up (the perfect bouffon gang size) and we went on a wacky, profound journey. My friend Tom stayed for the duration. Between laughing and shaking his head in wonder, he filmed and photographed some special moments.

Here’s a short video he shot and edited: Buffoonery Workshops

Day 7 into Day 8…. trucks, rocks, trees… repeat..

I’m being silly. But, isn’t that what this is about? Sometimes, anyway. Actually, as most of you know, a road trip provides much time for thinking, contemplation (same thing), assessing, life evaluation, goals, dreams, and where the next gas up and pee stop is, and should I get bad coffee or hang in for a designer coffee.

Day Six: Coffee, Contemplation, and a picnic…

I kept yesterday’s promise: an earlier start and a real Americano from Atlantis Coffee in Regina. Set my first complete solo day off perfectly.

Then, one great silly moment with two Manitobians (again). And, one major refusal by three Saskatchewan morning smokers. I comforted myself by being extra nice to them and said at least we all laughed despite their refusal. I bet they’ll think about why “they can’t be silly.”

Day Four into Five: Bug splats…

Last silliness in Banff, rockies drama: a bear eating something big, Sunday traffic, bug splats, straight roads, watching the ditches at dusk for glowing eyes and leaping ungulates, super moon, super glowing orange ball in my rear-view mirror, Peter Gabriel singing in my car: “Drawn across the plain lands to the place that is higher….”
