It’s International Women’s Day March 8th, 2017.
I’m not going to go on about all the rights, movements, motions, marches, liberation, suppression, equality, love, violence, hate, bigotry, motherhood, sisterhood, beauty, nurturing, bold gestures, going back in time, empowerment, daughters, peace, activism….
Many are addressing these issues. And, well… I guess I sort of am. A tiny bit.
We women still have a long way to go to gain our place in this world. But… I believe our inner mother nature is sliding around quietly influencing, more than ever. And, we need it urgently. In the past three days, I have heard men speak strongly about the need for women’s creativity and input. I know these men. I know they believe that women are significant to getting us all back to our true selves.
I remember a man stating he had lost himself because of a woman. What he didn’t realize was that he had probably shed something that allowed him to be more himself. And, sometimes that feels like a loss.
We still have a long journey ahead. But, now, we have more men walking with us.
But, today, I ask you … what women do you celebrate and who is on your stage of life?
I think it’s the perfect time to rise, crank the volume and dance to a powerhouse woman, accompanied by a respecting icon!

Happy March 8th….
(p.s. My blogpost of 2011 for today still stands, with so many more unnamed women in my life…And, Happy Birthday to late Lynn Redgrave)
